Lasers

 

Fractional Lasers : (Er Glass/Fractional CO2)

- These are one of the best laser for acne scars.

- Works on collagen remodelling thus elevating scars , thus leading to smoothness of skin texture.

- This laser is virtually painless and is being done in the OPD.

- Earlier the lasers used to give lot post laser swelling, crusting , which again is reduced upto 90% with this new revolutionary

  Laser i.e. Fraxel.

- 3-5 sittings are required depending on the severity of acne scars.

- laser works well on Striae( Stretch Marks ), Wrinkles, Post  Chicken pox scars, Surgical scars and Accidental scars.

 

IPL laser : 

- It is virtually painless and fastest.

- 6-8 sessions with 4wks Interval is required for 80-90% hair reduction. 

 

AFT Lasers

- It works very well for Acne reduction / Pigmentation reduction 

- It is one of the best Lasers for the resistant and recurring acne problem.

- 3 - 4 Sessions is required for good results at the interval of approx 3 wks. 

 

Nd Yag Laser :

- 6 to 8 sittings leads to appropriate long term reduction of hairs.

- Other lasers which can be used for hair removal are IPL(Intesed pulse light) , Diode laser etc.

- Cause of Hirsutism ( unwanted hairs ) should be properly evaluated before any treatment is started because most of the time its not

   only the cosmetic problem, but also associated with hormonal imbalance, which requires some hormonal analysis to confirm the exact

   cause.

- Patients with hormonal problems also require some medical treatment, along with Laser hair removal.   

- So do not blame the laser that its not worked for you, because if done with trained hands and doctor, with proper evaluation, the results

   are encouraging.

- Always keep in mind, that medicine will only work if its given for the  particular problem, else it may itself become the problem, or

  complicate the problem. So the laser is not bad, if its done in a proper and scientific manner.

KTP Laser : 

- It is very useful in the cases of rosacea, and now FDA approved.

- Hemangiomas are also treated with laser with very good results.

- Treatment resistant Acne can also be treated with this laser with good results.

           

Q Switched Nd Yag       

*  It gives very good results in Nevus ( like Beckers Nevus,   Nevus of Ota, ABNOM, etc), Birth Marks and Tattoo

* 3 to 4 sittings gives improvement upto 80-90% .
